There was very little planning involved in creating Hills. At first I just had an urge to show people that I smoked a wooden cigarette when I was 12 years old and that it could be interesting subject to reflect or to present that to a reader. It is kind of a compilation of childhood memories connected to a place that once existed in my hometown which is essentially an open air museum of communism.
Hills is entirely printed by linocut, not clean or polished, the pages are stained and there is few of them. Very much like the stories it tells.
